However, unlike the vast majority of other marketing channels, the internet allows you to create a nearly limitless variety of different ads and strategies all at once, including video, audio, text and banner ads that can be seen all over the web, and typically for a far lower cost than traditional offline marketing methods. Using many different internet marketing techniques together lets you create a stronger campaign to get noticed by much more of your target market and has the potential to go viral.

So who can use internet marketing strategies for themselves or their business?

Basically anyone who has a product, service, message, etc? That they want to get in front of a targeted audience, or spread to as many people as possible. It can pertain to every industry, niche, individual, and company looking to grow its customer base or get information out to the world. This means that virtually anyone can use the internet to market almost anything, and it?s certainly not ?oversaturated? like some people would have you believe. That is nothing but a myth!

Spanish economy shrinks faster

Spain's downturn deepened in the second quarter, with the economy shrinking 0.4 percent after contracting 0.3 percent in the first three months of 2012, official data showed Monday.

The figures from the national statistics institute INE confirmed Bank of Spain data issued last week, compounding the problems the government faces in an economy expected not to return to growth until 2014.

INE said the second quarter outcome reflected "weaker domestic demand which was offset in part by a positive contribution from external demand."

Earlier this month, the government said the economy would remain in recession next year, shrinking 0.5 percent instead of growing 0.2 percent as previously expected.

The economy was tipped to shrink 1.5 percent this year, with unemployment hitting an unprecedented 24.6 percent, it said.

Spain, in a tailspin since a massive property bubble burst in 2008, was forecast to return to growth of 1.2 percent in 2014 and 1.9 percent in 2015.

The International Monetary Fund expects the Spanish economy to shrink 1.7 percent this year and 1.2 percent in 2013.

Separately, INE said the inflation rate in July rose sharply to 2.2 percent on a 12-month basis from 1.8 percent in June.

With the Browns on the verge of being sold by Randy Lerner to Jimmy Haslam, some of you have asked which other teams could be available.

The chatter in league circles is that the teams most likely to be on the market in the not-too-distant future are the Bills, Titans, and Broncos.

The Bills and Titans are each held by their original AFL owners. ?Ralph Wilson, who initially wanted to put an AFL team in Miami, has owned the Bills since 1960. ?Bud Adams founded the Houston Oilers that same year, moving them to Tennessee 35 years later.

It?s believed that the families of Wilson, 93, and Adams, 89, will sell the franchises once they inherit ownership of them. ?Actually, Haslam had been rumored as one of the candidates to buy the Titans, given that Haslam?s family lives and works in Tennessee.

The reasons for the potential availability of the Broncos, another original AFL franchise, aren?t known. ?Owner Pat Bowlen is only 68, which makes him a spring chicken in relation to some of his colleagues. ?Rumors and reports of memory issues swirled a couple of years ago, but that talk largely has subsided. ?Some in Denver believe that, eventually, Bowlen will find a way to sell the team to V.P. of football operations John Elway, and that Elway will find a way to buy it.

Potential buyers don?t have to cut a check for $1 billion or close to that amount. ?Instead, league rules permit one person to own as little as 30 percent. ?Technically, one family may own 30 percent, with at least one person from the family owning 10 percent.

Here?s hoping the Kardashians aren?t aware of that.

Dr. Terri Orbuch, a research professor at the University of Michigan and author of ?Finding Love Again: 6 Simple Steps to a New and Happy Relationship,? studied marriage for 25 years. Her research started in 1986 as a long-term study supported by the National Institutes of Health. The study followed 373 newlyweds. By 2012, 46% of the couples had divorced. Concluding the study, Dr. Orbuch learned there were five common issues that the divorcees would improve if they had the chance to do it all again:

1. Money.?Dr. Orbuch learned that money plays a huge role in marital conflict. ?Many divorced singles say that money was the number one source of conflict in the early years of marriage,? she said. She also found that, ?6 out of 10 said they would not share living expenses in their next relationship.? She recommends that each partner discuss their own approach to spending and saving early on in the relationship to set financial rules and expectations in the relationship.

2. Affection.?A shocking find that Dr. Orbuch found is that men craved affection more than women. ?It?s counterintuitive,? says Orbuch, ?but men crave feeling special and being noticed by their wives.? She adds that men who report not getting enough nonsexual affection were twice as likely to ask for a divorce, but the reverse was not true for women. ?Women are fortunate. We get this kind of affirmation from more people in our lives, our mothers, children, our best friends??so women tend to need less from husbands.? She recommends carving out time for regular cuddling, kissing, hand holding, and saying ?I love you.?

3. Blame.?Dr. Orbuch discovered when divorced couples found fault with their relationship using ?we? statements, they were significantly more likely to find love than those who used ?I? or ?you? statements, so if you plan to have a great relationship post-divorce, it?s best to kick the blame to the curb.?Dr. Orbuch suggests examining what went wrong in the relationship instead of playing the ?blame game?.

4. Communication.?Dr. Orbuch suggests having at least one 10-minute conversation every day with your spouse that is unrelated to the daily distractions in life (e.g. work and children). ?Talk to your partner about something other than work, the relationship, the house, or the children. Forty-one percent of divorced people say they would change their communication style and, 91% of happily married couples say they know their partner intimately,? says Dr. Orbuch.

5. Move on.? ?That animosity prevents you from being fully present,? says Orbuch. She added that people who felt neutral toward their ex were significantly more likely to find love after a divorce. This article will give you pointers on learning whether or not you?re over your ex.

What Fraction of Bankruptcies Is Caused By Medical Debt?

We don?t have to look very far for an answer. It seems that the authors are reluctant to take their respondents seriously when it comes to an understanding of their indebtedness. The survey clearly states that only 29 percent of the respondents believed that their bankruptcy was actually caused by medical bills. This number sounds like a reasonable approximation of the actual impact of medical debt on bankruptcies. In fact, it accords well with other findings in the literature, including my own. In an AEI working paper, I showed that when medical debts (as a fraction of income) rise by 10 percent, we are likely to observe an increase in bankruptcy filings induced by those debts by approximately 27 percent. In other words, if between 2001 and 2007, medical debts increased by about 10 percent (as a fraction of income), the study suggests that about 27 percent of the total filings during this period can be attributed to medical debts. The SCF shows that for all families, total debts as a fraction of income actually have increased by roughly that 10 percent figure over this period. Therefore, even if all of this increase was due to medical debts (which is unlikely since mortgage debts are ten times higher), the additional bankruptcy filings due to medical debts should be 27 percent of the total. Another paper by Domowitz and Sartain estimates the fraction of medical bankruptcies at about 30 percent, half of what the Warren study finds.

Untreated Heartburn May Raise Risk for Esophageal Cancer, Study Says

WEDNESDAY, July 25 (HealthDay News) -- Rates of esophageal cancer have surged due to a lack of awareness about what causes the disease and how it can be prevented, experts say.

The esophagus is the muscular tube that carries food and liquid from the mouth to the stomach. There were six times as many cases of esophageal cancer in 2001 as there were in 1975, according to a team from the University of California, Los Angeles. The researchers noted that one key way people can reduce their risk for the disease is by managing heartburn and acid reflux, often called gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD.

"Obesity and poor diet have spiked the numbers suffering from acid reflux," Dr. V. Raman Muthusamy, associate clinical professor of medicine and endoscopy director at the UCLA Center for Esophageal Disorders, said in a university news release.

If left untreated, GERD can cause stomach acid to wash repeatedly into the esophagus, causing changes in the tissue lining. This condition is called Barrett's esophagus, and people diagnosed with Barrett's may be up to 40 times more likely to develop esophageal cancer, the UCLA experts explained.

Complicating matters, people with esophageal cancer may not experience any symptoms other than heartburn, which could prevent early detection of the disease, said Muthusamy and his colleague Dr. Kevin Ghassemi, clinical programs director at the UCLA Center for Esophageal Disorders.

"Early identification, treatment and management of changes in the esophageal lining are critical to catching problems early," Ghassemi said in the news release.

To help people know when to be concerned about acid reflux or heartburn and reduce the risks associated with the condition, Muthusamy and Ghassemi offered the following tips:

• Anyone experiencing heartburn more than once a week should visit their doctor to manage the condition.
• Lose extra pounds. Being overweight can make acid reflux and heartburn worse.
• Avoid eating too much at one time, and keep upright after eating. Reclining with a full stomach can make symptoms worse.
• Engage in light physical activity after eating; exercise can help digestion.
• Anyone who takes medications for acid reflux -- such as Prilosec, Nexium, Prevacid, Zantac or Pepcid -- should take their medication regularly to reduce the level of acid in their stomach.
• Get screened for esophageal cancer. White men aged 50 or older who have been affected by acid reflux for more than 10 to 15 years should consider being screened for Barrett's esophagus. If caught early, the changes in the esophagus lining can be treated.
• Don't smoke.
• Avoid caffeine, alcohol and fatty foods, which can increase the risk for acid reflux.
• People taking certain heart and blood-pressure drugs, such as calcium channel blockers and nitrates, may be at greater risk for acid reflux. These patients should discuss their risk factors and treatment options with their doctor.
• Don't wear tight-fitting clothes.

The American Cancer Society estimates that there will be nearly 17,500 new cases of esophageal cancer in the United States in 2012, and more than 15,000 deaths from the disease.

'Step Up 4' to keep gas mask scene

Summit Entertainment won't edit out a scene from 3-D dance pic "Step Up Revolution" in which a troupe of dancers enter a room wearing gas masks -- similar to the gas mask worn by suspect James Holmes when he opened fire at a theater last Friday.

However, Summit immediately pulled advertising materials referencing the scene following the theater massacre in Aurora, Colo.

The 3-D dance pic opens Friday, meaning that the movie was sent out to exhibitors early in the week.

Last week's tragedy in Colorado began when Holmes entered a midnight screening of?"The Dark Knight Rises" with the rest of the crowd before propping open an emergency door and going to his car. He re-entered the theater wearing a gas mask and body armour, along with gas bombs and weapons.

The sequence in?"Step Up Revolution" involves a group of dancers who -- wearing gas masks -- infiltrate a corporate party wearing gas masks and carrying smoke canisters.

"Summit Entertainment's 'Step Up Revolution' is an uplifting film that celebrates the redemptive power of dance. There is a brief scene in the film in which a troop of dancers enter a room wearing gas masks as props and the dancers immediately go into a choreographed routine," Summit said in a statement.

"Because of last week?s tragic events in Colorado, Summit immediately removed television advertising that briefly showcased that scene from the film. Some members of the media raised took to social media to discuss the scene in "Step Up 4" following a press screening of the movie on Tuesday night. Executives from Summit and parent co. Lionsgate discussed the situation throughout Wednesday, although the movie has already gone out to exhibitors.

"Step Up 4," rated PG-13, stars Kathryn McCormick, who appeared on the sixth season of "So You Think You Can Dance,"?Ryan Guzman, Adam Sevani, Misha Gabriel and Peter Gallagher.

At least one Hollywood movie is already being altered in the wake of the theater shooting during a midnight screening of "The Dark Knight Rises." Warner Bros. is delaying release of "Gangster Squad" until Jan. 11. The film, which had been set to open in early September, has a scene where a moviegoers are shot in a theater.

Aussie chief urges team to focus amid racism row

The head of Australia's team at the London Olympics has urged his athletes to maintain their focus and not become sidetracked by the racism row involving John Steffensen.

The 400 metre runner has claimed he was racially abused by an Australia Olympic Committee staff member in Beijing four years ago, an allegation supported by Australia athletics team captain and reigning Olympic pole vault champion Steve Hooker.

"I won't single John out," Australia's chef de mission Nick Green said Tuesday. "For athletes this week, they need to focus and be ready to compete. Their focus needs to be on the competition.

"Any other distraction can have adverse affects on their performance. Athletes need to focus, but saying that, I have an open-door policy to all athletes, and if an athlete wants to talk to me about a matter they've got an issue with then, absolutely, come and see me.

"It happened in 2008. I'm looking after the team of 2012.

"I'm aware of it, like we all are. But I'm not giving more attention to it, no," Green insisted.

Earlier this month Steffensen, who has had several run-ins with Australia athletics chiefs, was overlooked for an individual 400m spot that went instead to Sydney teenager Steve Solomon.

Afterwards, Steffensen told Australia's Channel Nine: "I've put up with being racially vilified by this federation, being discriminated against on many teams.

"You know it'd help if I was a different colour, then a lot of decisions with my federation would be totally different, but I've never brought that up, I've always kept quiet on that."

Steffensen, however, has been selected as a member of Australia 4x400m relay squad.

Meanwhile, Green stressed Steffensen was not 'destabilising' the team.

"From a larger team point of view, no he's not. Having spoken to the team itself, the athletics team, he is a member of the team.

"We know he's a character, he's allowed to be a character and he's allowed to voice his opinion.

"The matter of him as a member of the team, that hasn't changed, some allegation he's made in 2008 and Athletics Australia will deal with those."

Asked if he would intervene in the Steffensen situation, Green replied: "When it becomes out of control."

Previously, Hooker supported Steffensen's claims by saying: "The staff member that was involved in that incident in Beijing isn't on this team.

"So as far as this team goes I don't believe John has any issues with anyone on this team."

He too urged Steffensen to put the issue on the back-burner, at least for the duration of the Games.

"That is stuff from the past and unfortunately John is still carrying that around with him and still has an issue with it," Hooker said.

"But we all hope as a team and we hope for John that we can get past that for the sake of this next two weeks and if there is stuff that still needs to be resolved at a later date then it can happen then."

You?ve polished your resume to no end, especially after finding a job posting that precisely fits your skills. But did your cover letter merit the same attention? Many hiring managers use your cover letter to gauge your interest in the company, as well as your aptitude for the job. 1.Your opening line was boring- Do not start your letter this way; ?I am a Marketing Executive with 5 years of experience,? or ?In response to your ad for an Administrative Assistance, I have enclosed my resume.? This is not compelling enough to use as opening statements. Instead, try a hook that makes the hiring manager sit up straight in his or her chair, as in this example: ?As a Sales Executive for ABC Company, I?ve increased customer satisfaction to 97% in 3 outsourcing engagements?pushing our revenue growth to its peak despite the recession. I?m interested in creating the same results for you.? Note each of these sentences contains statistics, a targeted job title, and a career-defining achievement that is framed in context and laid out quickly for the reader to absorb. Ensure you speak precisely to the employer?s pain points while describing the performance impact you?ve had in previous roles. Your opening line should also leverage the research you?ve done on the company, per the next point.

2. You didn?t demonstrate the ability to solve the employer?s problems. ? Showing off a list of competencies isn?t strong enough to distinguish you from other candidates, but speaking directly to the company?s needs will do the trick. You have to dig into the company?s history, press releases, annual reports, and other news to figure out their pain points. What type of expansion is planned? Were earnings down in previous quarters? What do industry analysts say about the company?s future and their business strategy? Armed with this information, you?re able to connect your leadership skills to the employer?s needs much more succinctly: For instance, ?My ability to produce business development results; (30% rise in ABC Company sales during Q4 2010) can address any struggles you?ve had in breaking into this market. Can we talk??

3. Your key points don?t match (or exceed) the job requirements.- Like CVs, cover letters must be precise and direct the reader?keeping them attentive to the reasons they should hire you and the edge your work can give them. While you?re writing, put the job description in front of you to remind yourself what the employer is seeking. Then, look for ways to point out how you can surpass these expectations. For example, a Sales Director may say; ?In your ad I noted that you require a leader in service delivery and customer satisfaction. My career includes 3 years of 97% satisfaction ratings, achieved by improving infrastructure and network capacity, and I hold responsive service as my first priority.?

4. You didn?t address the letter to an actual person. - Finding a contact name inside the company has never been easier. Taking the time to locate a name (vs. resorting to ?Dear Hiring Manager?) will help your letter create more impact at a target employer.

5. You forgot to be assertive. ? If your closing line isn?t strong, you run the risk of looking too passive. Most of us end your letters with these words, ?Thank you in advance for reviewing my credentials.? This is certainly polite and professionally stated.? If pursuing a senior-level role, employers like to see a take-charge style. For instance, be more forceful by saying; ?I plan to exceed your requirements as your next Finance Officer,? and ?I am confident that I can demonstrate the leadership you look for in your next F.O.? This is stronger. Even more intense, ?I will follow up with you next Tuesday,? shows definite intent on your part to influence the hiring audience, and gives them advance notice of the proactive steps you?ll take to secure the interview.

There?s no reason to settle for a bland, one-size-fits-all cover letter that blends in with the others. Your job search will fare better when you zero in on the hiring audience with an unforgettable opening?especially when it draws a parallel between employer needs and your unique value.
